WCWA History
After a few years of Women’s collegiate wrestling in the mid 2000’s, the WCWA was created to govern women’s wrestling at the collegiate ranks. Any program was eligible to join.
2007
WCWA Established
Without collegiate sponsorship, college coaches create the WCWA to govern women’s college wrestling.
2008
First National Tournament
Initial tournament held in Oklahoma City
2020
Tournament Canceled
The National tournament is canceled due to the COVID pandemic.
2021
WCWA Disbanded
With the NAIA, NJCAA, and NCAA creating national tournaments the WCWA is ended with it’s mission accomplished.
